Post-Doctoral Positions in Stem Cell Biology
We are looking for motivated and creative post-doctoral fellows to join the 3D Stem Cell Biology Research Group and study normal and pathological development of the human inner ear using stem cell-derived organoids as a model system (Koehler et al., Nature 2013; Liu et al., Nature Communications 2016; Koehler et al., Nature Biotechnology 2017). We are interested in studying how subpopulations of human otic progenitors give rise to different sensory cell types during normal inner ear development and, using this knowledge, elucidating the mechanisms responsible for abnormal development of the inner ear in individuals with genetic mutations. We are also interested in identifying chemical compounds with the potential of promoting hair cell regeneration in the human inner ear. Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in biomedical sciences. Previous research experience in molecular cloning, CRISPR/Cas9, ChIP/Co-IP, ChIP-seq/RNA-seq, site-directed mutagenesis or proteomics is highly desirable, but not required. The starting date is flexible.
As a member of the Stark Neurosciences Research Institute (SNRI) (https://medicine.iu.edu/research/centers-institutes/stark-neurosciences), we enjoy close collaborations/interactions with other members of the institute. Additionally, our lab is located in the same building with outstanding core facilities, such as the Center for Medical Genomics and the Flow Cytometry Core Facility.
